Tryptone
Tryptone is suitable for the cultivation, isolation, proliferation, and identification of bacteria, as well as for preparing sterile test media, anaerobic bacteria media, and other biochemical test media for bacteria.
Description
Products Description
Tryptone, also known as casein tryptone or pancreatic digest of casein, is a light yellow powder derived from the digestion of fresh beef and beef bones by pancreatic enzymes, followed by concentrated and dried. The product is characterized by good physical properties such as light color, good solubility, transparency, and lack of precipitate. Our product is also rich in nitrogen sources and amino acids, which can be used for various microbial culture media preparations.

Frequent Asking Questions
Q1: What is Biologix Tryptone and how is it produced?
A1: Tryptone is a pancreatic‑digest of casein (protein from beef), concentrated and dried into a light yellow, soluble powder. It delivers clear solutions without precipitate.
Q2: What makes our Tryptone ideal for microbial media?
A2: It contains ≥ 12.0% total nitrogen and ≥ 4.0% amino nitrogen, supplying rich peptides and amino acids to support bacterial cultivation, isolation, and biochemical testing.
Q3: In which applications can I use Tryptone?
A3: Suitable for preparing routine culture broths, anaerobic media, biochemical test media, and sterile test solutions for a wide variety of bacteria.
Q4: What are the physical and quality specifications?
A4:
Appearance: Clear, transparent solution
pH: 6.0–7.0
Moisture: ≤ 5.0%
Ash: ≤ 15.0%
Sodium chloride: ≤ 1.0%
Tryptophan: ≥ 0.8%
Free of alkaline or phosphate‑induced precipitation
Q5: How should Tryptone be stored and what is its shelf life?
A5: Keep at 15–30 °C, in a dry place. Shelf life is 36 months when stored according to these conditions.
